Course Description

1-Day (8-hour course)

Target Audience:

For employees who perform or supervise electrical repair or maintenance works, operators who work at or near electrical equipment or machineries and those who use portable electrical power tools.

Absolute requirements. Individuals must be currently employed as maintenance supervisor, electrician, technician, operators.
Preferred requirements: Knowledge of facility electrical safety policies, rules, regulations.
Precourse preparation: Participants are to bring with them to the seminar for analysis and discussion, previous electrical hazard found in their work area, functions performed related to maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, and previous accident or near-accident involving electrical equipment (if any). 

Course Overview:

This course is designed to assist target participants understand the basic principles of electricity, safe work conditions and procedures, correct response to emergencies in order to prevent injury, death and property damage as a result of unsafe practices or electrical hazards.

Safe Work Environment
Proper Clothing and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Safe Equipment Operation
Cause Analysis of an Electrical Accident
Electrical Lockout/Tagout
Electrical Safety Inspection
Workshop 1 - Workplace Electrical Safety Inspection
Electrical Emergency Response
Workshop 2 - Electrical Accident Emergency Response
